WD GANN: Playing All the Angles
WD GANN: PLAYING THE ANGLES
One of the greatest legacies that WD GANN left as a market genius and successful trader was the concept of using geometric angles as part of the decision process for placing and exiting trades in the markets.
Unfortunately, as with almost all wisdom passed down from generation to generation, only a small part of the Truth remains of Mr. Gann’s discoveries.
While I won’t reveal the greatest of those re-discovered secrets in this post, I think that another visit to the use of angles would be helpful to new traders and old alike.
To start with, I’d like to point out that most uses of WD GANN’s famous angles (like the 45 degree angle) are NOT applied correctly.
To put it another way: as applied in this day, they just don’t work enough to be useful.
And, further, they are misinterpreted as to their true function.
When applied in a proper context, they can direct us to what the markets are saying about their trends and when those trends have run their course and shift direction.
In my previous post, I stated that the EURO had shifted it’s short-term trend to downward and indicated on the chart a geometric line of descent in that direction.
Once the price movement direction is discerned, then price target projections to the downside can be set to further extract a real sense of the importance and strength of the direction.
For example, in my previous post, I set the direction as down.
The angle confirmed this.
Then, I found a preliminary price support objective that would be appropriate for a moderately downward moving market (I used the Excalibur Method approach to do that even though there wasn’t much price data to go on at the time).
As our anticipated support price was passed through but held just a little beyond, we have a further confirmation of the strength of the downward price direction as still moderate and not full-out Bearish yet.
But, one of the more important confirmations is that the angle downward, (a 22.5 degree angle downward), was one of only a moderate nature which held on both sides of the price movement.
That’s just one of the functions of these angles: to establish a non-emotional sense of the real market’s intentions for the future.
We’ll look at more examples in the coming posts.– George

Want More Depth on GANN Angles & WD GANN’s Recovered Lost Secrets?
W. D. GANN: Much of the reasoning BEHIND what Mr. Gann left in his papers and courses was omitted from his writings.
But, Gann did leave clues and those clues have led to the re-discovery of much of this ‘lost’ information.
As you’d expect, this level of understanding the markets leads to a more holistic and accurate interpretation of market price charts.
That, in turn, leads to the confidence one needs to act on what they can now clearly SEE.
The price charts are embedded with levels of information that can only be extracted by using these insights derived from WD GANN’s work and clues.
If you’re interested in KNOWING the markets and the reasoning behind what you’re seeing daily on your screens and charts, you owe it to yourself to investigate the Harrison-Gann Secrets Course which starts with the Excalibur Method.
The insights gained from the Excalibur Method alone will open up greater trading possibilities than you’ve probably even imagined possible including the invisible lines of price movement as well as the highest probability intermediate BUY and SELL price areas as trends continue to progress.
